The results of the 2025 Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM) and Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling (ICM) were recently announced, with Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications (NJUPT) winning 3 Outstanding Winner awards—two of which also received the prestigious Ben Fusaro Award and INFORMS Award. This achievement ties NJUPT for first place globally in the number of top prizes, marking a new breakthrough following its clean sweep of awards in China's National Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling in 2024.
List of Outstanding Winners
This year's competition attracted 27,456 teams worldwide, with only 43 (0.16%) earning the Outstanding Winner distinction. In addition to these top honors, NJUPT students secured 13 Finalist awards, 40 Meritorious Winner awards, and 133 Honorable Mention awards.

Organized by the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) since 1985, the MCM/ICM competitions play a vital role in cultivating students’ innovative thinking, problem-solving skills, and teamwork spirit. They have grown into one of the most influential interdisciplinary innovation contests for undergraduates worldwide.
NJUPT has consistently prioritized enhancing students’ innovation capabilities by strengthening competition-oriented curriculum systems, optimizing organizational approaches, and refining training processes. The remarkable success in mathematical modeling in recent years will further ignite the university-wide enthusiasm for innovation and entrepreneurship, injecting strong momentum into NJUPT’s “Double First-Class” initiative and high-quality development.
